Surveying Services

Service Solutions Direct’s surveying services help to investigate and validate damage to buildings that result in an insurance claim.

We continually innovate to ensure we employ the most recent surveying techniques across our services that include . . .

Building Damage Surveying

Our surveyors are adept at quantifying building damage and the actions required to put it right.
By using industry leading tools to ensure an accurate assessment of situation on site, our surveyors create comprehensive damage report and solution documents.
Our reports include line by line repair requirements, full colour photographs and a Health & Safety risk assessment.

Roof surveying

Service Solutions Direct were an early adopter of Aerial Image Technology for roof surveying. This equipment consists of an aerial photography mast, computer operated cameras and a 360 degree rotating unit, enabling roof reports on buildings up to 10metres high without the time, disturbance and cost of erecting scaffolding to gain roof access.
Where aerial image technology is not suitable for a survey, we employ more traditional techniques.

Trace and Access

By utilising the latest technology such as thermal imaging, SSD quickly and accurately identify leaks in ceilings, behind walls, under floors and on roof structures. We don’t need to guess where leaks are – we locate them with pinpoint accuracy. This saves the time, expense and disruption of digging out walls lo locate the underlying leak source.

Asbestos Testing

On site sampling by trained surveyors provides accurate information about the location, amount and type of any asbestos-containing materials.
Samples are sent to UKAS accredited laboratories with results confirmed rapidly.
Where asbestos containing materials are present, a removal program is created and implemented by one of our surveyors.

Moisture Reading

Service Solutions Direct surveyors utilise quality ‘probe type’ protimeter equipment to detect and measure surface moisture, relative humidity, dew point and temperature. These tools help us to assess the location and severity of water damage.

Moisture Assessment

We utilise specialist techniques to test for nitrate, chloride, sulphate and ammonium salts to help identify moisture as a fresh water leak, natural spring water, condensation, rising damp or lateral penetrating damp. Understanding the underlying cause of water damage is essential to make informed decisions on any restoration and repair activities required.
